Pregnancy is one of the most special times in a woman's life. It is a time for nurturing, slowing down and preparing the body to be the vessel for new life. Pregnancy Yoga classes discover a deeper sense of peace and harmony within, lifting blocks of fear, doubt and old conditioning out of pregnancy, birth, as well as life. The aim is to cultivate a connection between mother and baby through chanting, breathing exercises and visualizations.
Pregnancy Yoga will help to keep you physically, mentally and emotionally prepared for the extensive changes in you. It offers several ways to make your journey into motherhood a safe and pleasant one.
Pregnancy classes will begin with Pranayama (breathing exercises) to relax your body, ease your mind and connect with your baby in a safe and supportive environment. Breathing is one of the most important tools to manage the way labour progresses, preparing pregnant women for the natural birth process.
A gentle practice of asana (posture) will help to gain flexibility, physical and mental strength, and increase your ability to relax through your pregnancy and into labour. Pregnancy Yoga classes provide safe, simple and effective exercises designed to strengthen and relax your rapidly changing body, preparing you for a conscious childbirth. Depending on the trimester and on your personal condition the Asana practice will be modified. Particular emphasis is on strengthening the pelvic floor and lower back.
